About Food Service Sources, Inc.
Food Service Sources, Inc. is proud to be a family-owned and operated company. We began as the privately owned Everett Hall Meat Company when Mr. Everett Hall opened a wholesale meat processing plant in 1945 in our current location. He and his family operated the meat plant until 1973 when he decided to retire and sold the business to Mr. Joe Tremblay and his partner Mr. Harry Anderson. They added 2400 sq. feet of freezer and 10,000 sq. feet of dry storage to the facility and diversified into frozen and dry groceries. At the same time they discontinued processing meat at the facility and began purchasing their meat products from outside sources to become strictly a distributor of wholesale grocery items.
In 1979 Joe and Harry decided to sell the company to Bill and Jerri Crawford. In 1982 the Crawford’s added a 4800 sq. foot freezer to the facility and continued to expand sales. Food Service Sources acquired the assets of B&P distributors and Keene’s Produce located in Bellingham, WA thus diversifying into vending items and fresh produce.
In 1983 Food Service Sources bought Lee’s Food Sales located in Tacoma thus expanding their distribution area to Pierce and Thurston counties. In 1987 a company named Keener Foods (a company that Bill used to run) went out of business and Food Service Sources, Inc. acquired their northern sales and some of their employees. In 1991 Food Service Sources acquired assets of Bargreen’s in Mount Vernon, several great employees and opened a cash and carry on the west side of town. In 1993 Food Service Sources, Inc. purchased some of the assets of Woodmansee Foods and added Jack Woodmansee to our sales force. In 1996 another 20,000 sq. feet of dry storage was added to our facility. Food Service Sources, Inc. continues to expand our facility as we enjoy increased business.
Into the Present
Today, Food Service Sources, Inc. a UniPro member, operates from a state of the art facility at the same location where our business originally began. Our people make the difference . . . We are very proud to be the “Premier” full-line institutional food distributor for western Washington. Our personalized customer service is what separates from other companies.
